Sick of landscapes? Thought I would try nudes for a change of pace, but why try for the usual? pastel, c 8"x12" on sandpaper.

Neon

Original Pastel 9"x 11" on sandpaper. The nude becomes a bit surreal with the addition of unexpected coloring.

Fuchsia Nude

Original Pastel, 9"x 11" on sandpaper. I added dramatic light on this nude to give a bit more impact to this piece.

Key Limes & Clementines

This watercolor is my entry into the Wyoming Watercolor Society's Southeastern show to be held at Gallery Westin Laramie. I produced this with a 1/2" flat brush with individual strokes. Do NOT do this if you are afraid of those permanent squint/frown lines.

First Sin

This is a 40" tall alabaster sculpture I carved several years ago. The pink stone reminded me of flesh. The imagery is suggestive of the temptations of the Garden of Eden.

Betsy

This is an acrylic sketch painted from a live model at a recent work session for our local art guild. I enjoyed the challenge of working with the cool pinks, lavenders, and blues to create this young woman's face.

Twisted

This was another nude modeling session. A few of us are sharing the price of a model and hiring a person each Friday night. The sessions have been good practice for all of us. This is about as normal as my colors get unless I am trying to snap myself back into reality checks for true observational color and technical practice.

Imagine painting painted daisies! They come in 2 colors, a pink and a magenta color. I tried for years to get a dark plant and finally succeeded only to have someone dig it right out of my rock garden one night. Now that's sick!
