Most items in the studio were purchased for a nominal fee at surplus outlets or free for the taking. The problem was getting things up to the second floor.

This is surprising how surreal the shadow appears, which is cast from such a normal pair of objects. Original oil, 6x6" on gessoed masonite.

Fantaflora
SOLD to a collector from New Boston, New Hampshire
Original watercolor, approximately 9 x 12 inches. I enjoy relaxing by creating a painting such as this. There is no true direction; it can be hung in any orientation. These initiate with a shape, a run, or a spritz, and the medium initiates my creativity.

Autumn Glow
SOLD to a collector from Montgomery, Alabama
This was a quick demo for a watercolor class demonstrating wet on wet, allowing the glow of the white of the page to give sparkle to your light colors, negative space painting, and the suggestion of depth with scale & contrast.

Joanne
This proved to be a difficult study. My friend was sketching with a spotlight above her head. Her face was dimly lit, but the paper she was drawing upon reflected back into her glasses & tri-focals. Her glasses also reflected a crescent of light onto her cheek. I need to continue this pose and take more careful observations within the darkness. Something is not quite right, but I cannot pinpoint the majoe crux of the problem. Any suggestions?

Barbs on Cacti
SOLD to a collector from South Pasadena, California
ACEO original art card, 2.5 x 3.5", painted on gessoed matboard. My Momma had over 100 varieties of cactus when she died. (At one time she had double that). I kept 3 that I knew were as old as myself and gave all the rest to avid cactus lovers in out town.

Country Living 1
SOLD to a collector from Jasper, Indiana
Several years ago I was between Laramie WY & Ft Collins, CO and there were 52 mailboxes all lined up in a row along with square newspaper boxes. The mailboxes seemed to take on a quaint charm of city row houses and I did several large pastel drawings of the scene. Here I have made a "snippet" ACEO 2.5 x 3.5 original acrylic done in a folk art style of the scene.

Transition
I had white, pthalo green, and thio violet in my pocket, a brush & a piece of matboard. I did a very quick sketch of a wooded area with some trees silhouetted against a light backdrop and some aspens standing out as light against dark. This was more interesting to me than recording the actual and entire scene. Acrylic, 9 x 20"

Forgotten
The University of Wyoming forced the removal or demolition of several homes when it expanded the UW's parking area. This little home was moved to another section of Laramie, but is still not resting on a foundation after many years. I painted this 8 x 9" watercolor on location to record this neglected and forgotten building.
