Pink Reflections

Watercolor 13x17"
This watercolor was used as an in-class demo. I started by flooding the page with shades of light yellows, pinks, and lavenders and holding the paper so the colors ran off the page and were allowed to dry. The following day the depth stations of green were added using the initial colors as both the sky & reflections in the water.

Neon II

I was getting tired of doing landscapes, so I have been using the female figure as a source for my most recent artistic endeavors. This particular piece has been selected for the Pastel Society of the Northern Rockies exhibit in Loveland, CO the latter part of June and the first week in August. I was extremely disappointed that the Fuschia Nude created a few days prior was not selected. 9" x 12" pastel $325.

Fuchsia Nude

Pastel, approximately 9" x 12" on sandpaper. I exaggerated the colors and added the fiery peach underlighting for a bit of drama.

At Ease

The model shown previously has been developed more. I will let this sit a few days and decide what else I may need to adjust. Acrylic, 12" x 15"

At Ease (sketch)

This 9x12" acrylic sketch was done from a live model who posed for our local art guild last month. I plan to bring it more to fruition when this young lady poses again.

Key Limes & Clementines

This watercolor is my entry into the Wyoming Watercolor Society's Southeastern show to be held at Gallery Westin Laramie. I produced this with a 1/2" flat brush with individual strokes. Do NOT do this if you are afraid of those permanent squint/frown lines.

First Sin

This is a 40" tall alabaster sculpture I carved several years ago. The pink stone reminded me of flesh. The imagery is suggestive of the temptations of the Garden of Eden.

Betsy

This is an acrylic sketch painted from a live model at a recent work session for our local art guild. I enjoyed the challenge of working with the cool pinks, lavenders, and blues to create this young woman's face.

Twisted

This was another nude modeling session. A few of us are sharing the price of a model and hiring a person each Friday night. The sessions have been good practice for all of us. This is about as normal as my colors get unless I am trying to snap myself back into reality checks for true observational color and technical practice.
