Our little life drawing group was finally able to get together again this afternoon. Here is a detail of the 22x26" pastel I drew.

Watercolor, 11x15". This was painted directly from a live model. Several of us try to meet once a month and we chip in together to pay the modeling fees.

Self Portraits can always be intimidating. I have always loved vibrant colors and this small pastel is no exception.

Neon II

I was getting tired of doing landscapes, so I have been using the female figure as a source for my most recent artistic endeavors. This particular piece has been selected for the Pastel Society of the Northern Rockies exhibit in Loveland, CO the latter part of June and the first week in August. I was extremely disappointed that the Fuschia Nude created a few days prior was not selected. 9" x 12" pastel $325.

Fuchsia Nude

Pastel, approximately 9" x 12" on sandpaper. I exaggerated the colors and added the fiery peach underlighting for a bit of drama.

Twisted

This was another nude modeling session. A few of us are sharing the price of a model and hiring a person each Friday night. The sessions have been good practice for all of us. This is about as normal as my colors get unless I am trying to snap myself back into reality checks for true observational color and technical practice.
