Most items in the studio were purchased for a nominal fee at surplus outlets or free for the taking. The problem was getting things up to the second floor.

I love the flat files. I wish I had some.
I can't believe what a huge studio you have! Some folks are squeezed into the tiniest spaces, and some are able to spread out. Fantastic studio!
Flat files were purchased at an auction for $100 for set of 4. Shelving not pictured is 20 feet, double sided oak shelves for $20 purchased when UW library was being remodeled & they were being discarded. Large cabinet was a throwaway find. Counter top installation and mat cutting table were traded for a used Turbo 350 transmission. The studio did not happen overnight. I took out a loan for a roof extension. I shingled the roof. The following year I bought plywood for floors. I painted this with porch & flooring paint. Electrics were added the next year. Sheetrock was added another year later. Paint probably 6 months after that. My car cost $400 and flipped 100,000 miles on the way home. Priorities, prioroties! The studio is a personal necessity and I scrimped and saved for it and added a lot of personal elbow grease as well.
Easel was found in an old garden shed, painting stands are dump finds...wooden TV cabinets painted with white latex, turned on their side, and used casters affixed so they can roll. Old wobbly discarded table was reinforced and carpet remnant placed over the marred surface. This makes a good framing area.
