At Ease

The model shown previously has been developed more. I will let this sit a few days and decide what else I may need to adjust. Acrylic, 12" x 15"

At Ease (sketch)

This 9x12" acrylic sketch was done from a live model who posed for our local art guild last month. I plan to bring it more to fruition when this young lady poses again.

Key Limes & Clementines

This watercolor is my entry into the Wyoming Watercolor Society's Southeastern show to be held at Gallery Westin Laramie. I produced this with a 1/2" flat brush with individual strokes. Do NOT do this if you are afraid of those permanent squint/frown lines.

First Sin

This is a 40" tall alabaster sculpture I carved several years ago. The pink stone reminded me of flesh. The imagery is suggestive of the temptations of the Garden of Eden.

Betsy

This is an acrylic sketch painted from a live model at a recent work session for our local art guild. I enjoyed the challenge of working with the cool pinks, lavenders, and blues to create this young woman's face.

Twisted

This was another nude modeling session. A few of us are sharing the price of a model and hiring a person each Friday night. The sessions have been good practice for all of us. This is about as normal as my colors get unless I am trying to snap myself back into reality checks for true observational color and technical practice.

Patterned Reds

4 x 6" original oil painting on stretched canvas.

Joanne

This proved to be a difficult study. My friend was sketching with a spotlight above her head. Her face was dimly lit, but the paper she was drawing upon reflected back into her glasses & tri-focals. Her glasses also reflected a crescent of light onto her cheek. I need to continue this pose and take more careful observations within the darkness. Something is not quite right, but I cannot pinpoint the majoe crux of the problem. Any suggestions?

Country Living 1

SOLD to a collector from Jasper, Indiana
Several years ago I was between Laramie WY & Ft Collins, CO and there were 52 mailboxes all lined up in a row along with square newspaper boxes. The mailboxes seemed to take on a quaint charm of city row houses and I did several large pastel drawings of the scene. Here I have made a "snippet" ACEO 2.5 x 3.5 original acrylic done in a folk art style of the scene.
