Levitation


This quick sketch received a bit of whimsy when I purposely placed the shadow in such a manner that the strawberry raised from the substrate.

Tony




This aging Italian gentleman was challenging because of his unusual beard which was actually under his chin. I chose to draw him on a dark grey paper and work both lights and darks onto the middle value of the paper.

Old Spaniard



Pastel, 20x26". Alive model posed for this sketch. The image shown is seen part way through the drawing process. The underpainting has been roughed in and the gentleman's wrinkles were just being rendered when the modeling session was ended. I will continue next month when the model returns.
